Your Baby Can Read Reviews - A Real Personal Experience

Ive read numerous Your Baby Can Read reviews, but I didn't notice that any of the writers actually had educational knowledge. So having taught Kindergarten for several years and having purchased the course, I decided to jot down my own reviews of Your Baby Can Read.

The first time I learned about Your Baby Can Read, I was intrigued and skeptical. I didnt want to pressure my daughter Eva who is almost two years old too hard and I was really concerned that the program wouldn't be teaching her to read, only memorizing the words instead. Ive made up my mind to create several reviews for Your Baby Can Read because I trust other moms out there may have the same reservations I had and I thought maybe I could help. In addition, a lot of other articles I read left out important information on the series.

Id like to create a few Your Baby Can Read Reviews, first to describe how the program has worked so far, and second to give you some real life feedback on how Eva is responding as we go through the course.

The series starts out with parents tutorial that answered 80% of all my concerns. During the tutorial we found out that the creators daughter actually used the course herself and it had such an impact on her that at the age of 16 she is now a Sophmore in college. She reads and comprehends so quickly that she picks up large novels to read in 2 hours. So when my husband and I reviewed the first part of Your Baby Can Read ,it seemed like the program might actually be really good.

Now I want to address my concerns. My first concern was to figure out whether Your Baby Can Read is enjoyable for the baby or if the program pushes the baby to hard and to fast. I have a VERY active 17 month old who wont sit through much. So we decided to pop in the first video while she was eating and she actually was very intrigued. After a few days she really started to love it!! So the program was definately fun for her. If she starts to lose interest, we stopits that simple.

Next, I was concerned with whether or not she would be reading or memorizing the words. After spending a lot of time researching the series, I wanted part of my Your Baby Can Read reviews to describe the method this course takes toward reading. What I found was that the baby actually memorizes the word and the shape of the words. Believe it or not, it's considered more of a whole langauge approach to reading and its being used more and more in schools today. The baby also sees the word being acted out and hears the word. When a child learns visually and audibly at the same time, they reinforce each other and it becomes a very effective way to learn. In addition, Eva has started to act out the words as well, which shows that she's just not memorizing the words, but she actually undersands them as well. I dont want anyone reading this review of Your Baby Can Read to think that as a teacher, I think that this program is the only approach to your baby reading. I also believe that it's important to teach your child individual letters and sounds. Eva is learning this through games we play.

At this point, we are three weeks into the program and I have to tell you that I'm VERY excited. No, we dont have a little Einstein reader quite yet. From the experiences of others, it takes six months for the baby to pick up the first 50 words and those words act as a springboard for the baby to learn the other words in the Your Baby Can Read course more quickly.

Ill continue to bring you up to date you on how Eva is doing on the series, so make sure you check back in for further Your Baby Can Read Reviews.
