Most of you must know that Ayurveda is an age old therapy and a heritage of India. To most of you Old means outdated, but to your concern the efficacy of Ayurveda is a proof enough that it is into existence even after 5000 years ; which shows that its time tested and is the answer to the healthy lifestyle which is the root for success of mankind.
Allow me to quote a simple example which will illustrate the efficacy of Ayurveda over other conventional system of medicine.
Now if any one of you has feveryou will pop up antipyretic and would be ready for work, Very simple.Isnt It?
But if we give a deep thought in the situation you will find that you have suppressed one physiological immune system function.
Its like stopping your Army to fight. Fever is auto defense of our body towards foreign invasions and heat generated is unfavorable for bacteria to multiply, but By conventional methods the medicine acts by triggering the center in brain and bring the temperature down is more off symptomaticwhich anyhow lowers the immune function of your body and thus deliberately giving a favorable environment for invasions to increase. Slowly, unaware you become prone to Fever so as and when you have fever the first step you take; is to pop in antipyretic without caring for the root causeat last you are not careful for your health.
But Ayurveda deals in different manner. It looks at an Individual as a whole and not just the diseaseIt works by Enhancing the Immunity and making the body more capable to fight against the disease. Ayurveda medicines as we all know are without side effects, and it works to the root level.
Ayurvedas main objective is to maintain Health consistently and cure the Ailments as and when encountered. Ayurveda basically treats the root cause as theory lies in the proper balance of Body, Mind and Soul. Its strange that what Ayurveda tells about health since its origin; the modern concept has realized now and this made WHO to change the definition of Health recently according to this theory.
Ayurveda is unique in its concepts which are holistic and quite close to nature.
1. Ayurveda believes that the human being is an integral part of the nature. Whatever exists in the environment- has its counterpart in human body.
2. Ayurveda accepts the uniqueness of all individuals. So it is highly useful to address not only specific health concerns but also offer justification as to why one person responds differently than another.
3. Ayurveda offers treatment decisions specific to each individual according to constitution, mind situation and present and past ailments. It tries to find out the root cause of the ailment with respect to body and mind type and present afflictions causing distress to both. intelligence
4. Ayurveda guidelines can be used as a framework for any individual not only in ailments but to provide complete health as Ayurveda suggests dos and donts for healthy lifestyle specific to every case. It provides guiding principles for diet, yoga, sleep, work, exercises, daily and seasonal routines and spiritual practices to maintain harmony among the mind, body and soul.
So Ayurveda is a philosophy and holistic science of health and longevity which offers intelligence to help people stay full of life while realizing their full human potential.
