Nothing is more distressing than finding out that your baby has ringworm infection. Your first question is how your baby got it. Then you would feel remorseful about it and blame yourself for being careless about your babys health. That is a normal reaction, but then you have to quickly snap out of it. The best thing you can do is find home treatments against ringworm infection that are safe and gentle for your baby.
The ringworm may appear as a small rash or circular ring on your babys skin. It is a fungal infection that is contagious. Your baby could have gotten it from infected clothes, towels, diapers, brushes, ribbons, hats and similar things. How the fungus got there is another matter. Perhaps an infected person could have held your baby. If your baby has started walking, the contamination could have been gotten from dirty floors where fungus could have settled in. Also excessive sweating in your babys body could have caused it. Sometimes pets like cats and dogs have the fungus and infection could have spread around in your home.
The ringworm can appear on the babys scalp as scaly and bald spots on your babys scalp. On the skin it could appear as a rash and grows to about an inch in diameter appearing circular and scaly around the middle. This causes itchiness and redness around the skin.
You may have to consult your pediatrician for treatment. If you are prescribed medications, just follow the procedure as advised by the doctor. It is also a good thing that cures for ringworms are also available through natural home treatments. These are usually safer and gentle for the baby.
Ground some papaya seeds and mix with a small amount of water to make a paste. Then apply this to your babys infected area. The same with grounded Basil leaves and Cassea leaves made into separate pastes for application.
Shea butter works best on the scalp so use a generous amount on your babys scalp. This dries out the ringworm infection.
Make a mixture of ten drops of jojoba oil with one drop of lavender oil. Apply the mixture on the infected area 5 to six times a day for better effects.
Mix some drops of tea tree oil with warm water. Damp a soft towel into the mixture and gently rub on the infected area of your baby. You can do this 4 to 5 times a day.
Make your baby comfortable in loose soft cotton clothes. Itchiness is annoying for your baby so try to make it less irritating by applying these natural home cures. Make your home a more fun and relaxed environment so your baby would not feel so stressed out and that includes yourself, too.
